Using authentic materials in class (2)

         The students of 6a are using visuals/ authentic materials in the English class. They are looking for specific information in a Cotswold Wildlife Park&Gardens brochure.
The activity goes like this: The teacher writes questions on the board, hands out the brochures to the students and they look for the proper information to answer the questions.

         What are the benefits of visuals: 
- they boost the students' confidence and make them experience “real” language with the support of constructive feedback.
-they expose the students to culture, so the teacher can actually take the context into consideration instead of just looking at how language is used.
-they increase the students’ motivation and meet the learners' needs. The goal is to understand and use English in real life, so using authentic resources will teach the student what he or she needs to know to get there.
