This is an activity all students enjoy. The
teacher needs to prepare small sheets of paper with a question written on each
sheet. Below the question there are three or four possible answers, only one of
them being correct. The small sheets are stuck somewhere in the classroom,
usually to the walls. I try to hide some of the questions so that it is more
difficult for the students to find them. That is the part they really enjoy.
Each student has to have a notebook or a sheet of paper on which to write the
correct answer for each question. The questions have to be numbered. I usually
prepare ten to fifteen questions.
When all the students are ready, we check the
answers. I show them the questions on the interactive whiteboard or on the lap
top and together we discuss the answers. The students forget they are actually
doing an exercise and pay close attention to the activity.
For each correct answer the students win points,
1 or 2 per question. For the three fastest students there is a bonus of
3, 2 or 1 additional point(s) respectively.
Here are some simple questions for students aged
10-11 years old.
